The Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center is still seeking PRN CHW Instructors to teach a full CHW Certification
course (160 hours) in Austin, TX

Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center at Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center
• Title: Community Health Worker Certification Course
• Date: Spring Term – January 2020 – April 2020 (MWF)
• Time: 9am-4pm
• Method: Face-to-face
• Location: Austin
• Compensation: To be discussed; mileage reimbursement if traveling outside Austin.
• Language: English
Duties:
o Deliver and facilitate 160 hour CHW certification course
o Implement effective classroom management techniques
o Assess student learning objectives through classwork/homework, quizzes, and project-based assignments
o Meet regularly with coordinator to assess the progress of each participant
o Review instructional content, methods, and student evaluations to assess strengths and weaknesses and develop recommendations for course revision and development
o Participate in sessions to generate ideas for program improvements and attend staff meetings
o Performs related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
o Current Texas Community Health Worker Instructor certification
o Two to four years’ experience in teaching diverse student populations
o Experience in the integration of technology in the classroom and using technology-based instruction to enhance student performance
o Strong knowledge of communicative teaching practices
o Ability to motivate students and communicate effectively
o Ability to effectively document student progress and make instructional decisions based on this data
o Flexibility in dealing with curricular changes to master objectives
o Must be responsible, creative, motivated, patient, and friendly
o Ability to mentor students to help them achieve academic and on-the-job success
